The Assistant Groomer is employed by the City of Hancock, and works with the Chief of Trails/Head Groomer. This position is seasonal, part time, with no benefits. Base pay around $10/hr., but KNSC supplies incentives.

Job begins in September, with trail maintenance. After snow arrives, ski trail grooming begins, and continues until spring, usually March or April. Hard physical work, and occasionally difficult weather conditions make this job challenging – good strength and fitness required. Must be able to lift & move HEAVY machinery, operate various trail brushing tools and snow grooming implements or can be trained to do so.

The best person for this job will be a XC skier. Attention to safety is a must.

Details:  Weekly hours between 0 and 40 (35 is about average).defenderoncreekdl

All tools will be supplied.

You must have a cell phone.

In the fall this job entails clearing brush from the trails when they are dry and repairing bridges; in the winter months, trail grooming whenever it snows.

This position is not compatible with a student’s schedule or as a second job because we work at all hours and occasionally long days. A second job is only OK if you are available to groom at any time, with short notice.   Our schedule is completely weather dependent.

Must have a valid driver license and your own dependable transportation to Hancock. Not recommended to anyone who resides further than 12 miles out of town.

Experience with operating ATV’s, UTV’s, skid-steer, farm machinery or construction equipment is helpful.SWTtest.smalldl

Incentives: KNSC has a tight budget, but does value top trail conditions, so to attract the right person to this job the Club will pay a $1000 bonus in the spring if you successfully complete the season.

If you meet these requirements, please send a resume. Email is preferred for contacting us. Thank you for looking!Griz rolls CR.Idl
