Glide N Gorge – Saturday March 2, 2019

GNG 2015 bThe 11th annual Glide N Gorge will again be held on the Saturday of Copper Dog weekend. Come on out for great fun and better eats from noon until 3pm at the Maasto Hiihto ski trails in Hancock.

For this unique event, you’ll start at the Four Seasons Chalet, located at the north west corner of the Houghton County Fair Grounds. As always, we welcome you to classic ski, snow shoe, or snow bike! Kids in pulks and dogs are also welcome.

Over the 3.5 mile course, you’ll experience some of the most spectacular scenery our trail system has to offer, with plenty of delicious eats along the way.

The first stop, near Tomasi Drive, is where you’ll enjoy tasty appetizers, a toasty warm bon fire and friendly conversations, as you fuel up for the amazing journey along the Swedetown Creek Gorge.

GNG apitizers.III (Cropted)As you ski along the river, you will experience its tranquility, taking in the most breathtaking scenes as you listen to the ripple of the creek at your side.

To top it off, near the end of the river, bowls upon bowls of soups, stews, and chilies with plenty of homemade bread and hot and cold beverages will be awaiting your hungry arrival.

After sampling all of the delicious food and spending some time enjoying the fellowship of others, you will begin your journey to the GNG Grand Finale. To get there, you’ll make your way up Sisu Hill, but after that it is just a short jaunt back to the Chalet where you will be served mouth watering desserts as you enjoy live music.  You won’t want to miss out on this incredible afternoon.
